![]() ![]() Indiana’s cities exert their charms on visitors as well, whether you’re in the densely urban corridor that stretches along the northern edge of the state or ambling from small town to village amid the rustic rolling hills of the south. From the sand dunes near Lake Michigan to the deep canyons and sandstone cliffs in Turkey Run State Park, Indiana has plenty of natural attractions to explore. Spread across the state, you’ll find an array of lakes, forests, and nature reserves with hiking and biking trails, giant waterfalls, and plenty of spots where you can park a boat and spend the day fishing. However, the farmland is not what draws outdoor enthusiasts here. With its flat, fertile plains, northern Indiana is widely recognized for its iconic cornfields. there's also no drying rack and not many kitchen towels, so be prepared to use extra towels to hand dry and hand wash all the dishes.Although best known for its agriculture, the state of Indiana is home to high-profile sporting events, cultural attractions, and some of the most beautiful national parks in the Midwest. The only things to be aware of: the ceiling is low on the upper story, so a tall person will have to duck. there were a TON of cooking supplies, so there's honestly no need to bring your own (which we had worried based off some reviews, but ended up not really needing to use any we brought besides a cutting board and we cooked every meal). The bed is one of the most comfortable we've stayed in the fireplace indoors is picture perfect. the drive into the cabin occurs on a gravel road but there's no potholes or dips and it's well maintained for hill country. the hot tub was absolutely amazing and ready to go my husband and I spent time in it nightly. Yet all of these fear were put aside when we go there! absolutely beautiful views, very very cleanly for a lake house, and two lovely canoes that were both in great shape. we were a bit nervous about based off some reviews of a long drive in, being not as clean, and being told by the owner that they didn't have canoes on property. We fell in love with Brown County and plan on coming back ! Thank you to Eric & his cleaning staff ! We brought our lead for our dog but noticed they had one inside in the closest. We really didn’t need to use a lot of the stuff we brought from home. Plenty of board games, linens, utensils, pots & pans, towels. The hot tub was clean & ready to enjoy □. There are also two canoes on the property along with paddles & life jackets. There’s a handful of places to rent boats from to explore/fish Lake Monroe. When we GPSed some places for essentials it seemed like it would be such a long drive but to be honest, since most of that drive is the gravel road, it really wasn’t too bad. Like others said, bring some drinking water with. (I can’t recall if that was listed or not, it was more than likely our mistake lol). When we got there the first night we noticed it was a charcoal grill and had to grab charcoal the next day. We assumed there was a gas grill there since someone left a remark about an empty propane tank and not being able to grill. After reading reviews, once we got there we noticed some things others were suggesting to bring with to the lake house were already there (dish towels, cutting board). It really wasn’t that bad considering where the lake house is located (in a forest). The gravel road others were talking about is approximately the last 12 minutes (5 miles) of your travel to get to the Lake House. ![]() Our weekend trip did not disappoint despite the rain when we came & rain when we were leaving.
